His music explores the tension between programmable material and the potential for its failure, he is primarily interested in the idea of using sounds radically out of context and in recording what is not supposed to be : gear failures, the death of PA systems, background hiss, magnetic fields etc…

He mainly works with (eurorack) modular synthesizer, reel-to-reel tape recorders, magnetic fields detectors, piezo transducers, field recorders, computer and various home-made electronics.
More than 150 live performances in various venues in Europe, Japan and North America. Over the years, he had the honor to collaborate with great artists such as Nicolas Bernier / Leif Elggren / Dave Phillips / Scott Arford / Michael Gendreau / Gerritt Wittmer / Kiko C. Esseiva / Jason Kahn / ILIOS / Eryck Abecassis among many others.
He has been commissioned with music for Ensemble Phoenix / Cindy Van Acker / Yann Marussich / Mostra d’Art Sonor i Visual de Barcelona / Standard/Deluxe / Radio Pic-Nic / Residency at GRM / Residency at EMS / Galeria Valenzuela Klenner, Francisco Meirino has been awarded with the Award for Electronic Music Composition 2003 by Pro-Helvetia.
His music is widely published by labels such as Helen Scarsdale Agency / Misanthropic Agenda / Antrifrost /Entr’acte / Firework Editions / Observatoire etc…
He lives and works in Lausanne, Switzerland.
