The 40-minute composition Ob-literate by Zeno van den Broek and Gagi Petrovic premiered during the New Music Festival in the Nicolaïkerk, commissioned by Gaudeamus Muziekweek. It was written for five voices, three cubes, and one organ. The sounds are truly innovative. The combination of these specific instruments in a spatial speaker setup offers a disorienting and claustrophobic listening experience to the audience. The composers add an extra dimension to this second performance in Utrecht as the audience will be seated on the stage, very close to the performers. Ob-literate is played by a cast of excellent Dutch musicians; the seating guarantees an intimate feast for the ears and eyes.
Please note: The number of seats is limited.
